Crafter's Companion - My News

Hi there

Despite my 'big new's' a couple of weeks ago I have decided to step down from the Crafter's Companion Main Design Team. I did think long and hard before stepping down, but I do feel this was the best decision all around.

I want to thank Crafter's Companion for putting their faith in me...but at the end it just wasn't for me. I wish both them, and all the Design Team continued success.

However, I did receive a fabulous bit of news the other day which I wasn't expecting....I have been invited to join The Hunkydory 'For The Love Of Stamps' Design Team. I looove stamps and colouring as you know, so as you can imagine I'm super excited. :) I will be creating projects using 'The Love Of Stamps' range to be seen in their magazine and on Create & Craft. So watch this space...and the TV.  :)

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Up In The Air

Morning my lovelies ðŸ’œ

I'm here with another My Mum's Craft Shop (MMCS) Design Team card for you. I've chosen one of the new stamp releases from My Favorite Thing (MFT). The stamp set is called   'Up In The Air', and it contains lots of very cute animals and some lovely sentiments - I will definitely be using this set again for more projects.

For my CAS card I used Zig Color pens and Brushos in the background (my first time using them). You might need your sunglasses on for this one. Lol...I hope you like it!

A little close up for you

Here's What I Did
First I matted a 5" x 5" card blank with a piece of pattern paper. Next I die cut a piece of watercolour into an oval, and stamped the puppy head onto it. The puppy was stamped again onto the sticky end of a post-it note, and cut out to create a mask. The mask was used to cover the puppy's head and the hot air balloon was stamped over the top (this places the balloon behind the puppy). Once the ink was dry I painted the whole image with a masking fluid and left to dry. The sentiment was stamped beneath the balloon.

Using a couple of different brusho colours I lightly sprinkled them over the oval and spritzed it with water to make the colours move - I added more brusho where required. I took off any excess water using a piece of rolled up kitchen roll, and left it to dry out. The puppy and hot air balloon were coloured using watercolour pens; the yellow stripe on the balloon was pulled out using a glitter pen instead of water, and actual glitter was added to the white stripes.

The completed image was glued to a white die cut oval and attached to the card front using foam tape. To finish off I added a few pearls at the top and bottom of the card.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: My Favourite Thing  'Up In The Air'
Paper Pad: My Favourite Things 'Dots & Stripes Confection'

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Chatty Squidgy

Hi there everyone 💜

Today I'm here with another My Mum's Craft Shop (MMCS) Design Team card for you. I've chosen one of the stamps from the gorgeous Stamping Bella Squidgy range. I just think that these little characters so sooo sweet. I've been wanting to colour up one of these little cuties for ages, but just haven't had the opportunity until now...so for my card I chose 'Chatty Squidgy.' and coloured her with Copics. To complete my card I used a few dies and a stencil from My Favorite Things (MFT).  Hope you like it.

A Little Close Up For You

Here's What I Did
First I stamped my image onto Neenah card and die cut it into a square and then cut another square from lilac card. The image was also stamped again onto a post-it note and cut out, this was then placed over the image to protect it. Using a stencil, pale pink ink was gently sponged through it making sure not to make it too dark. The stencil was carefully removed and the image was coloured using alcohol markers.

The completed image was added to the lilac mat, then attached to the card font using foam tape. Next the words 'Hi' and 'There' were die cut from  Neenah card stock and funky foam.  Before removing the die cut words from the Neenah card they were coloured using 2 different coloured marker pens (pink & lilac) - the top and bottom were coloured and blended to create an ombre effect. The finished words were glue to the funky foam and glitter was added to them - these were then added to the card front.

To finish off I added 3 lilac pearls to the bottom of the card, and a sprinkling of some sequin waste.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: Stamping Bella 'Chatty Squidgy'
Stencil: My Favourite Thing 'Radiating Rays'
Dies: My Favourite Thing 'Blueprints #8, My Favourite Things 'Hello There'
Paper & Cardstock (CS): 5" x 5" Scalloped Card Blank, Lilac Card, Neenah
Copics:  Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, R30 / Hair - YR000, YR00, E13, E99 /  Dress & Bow - V000, V01, V04, V05, V09 / Shoes & Telephone - Y000, Y00, Y02, Y08, Y17
Other: Foam Tape, White Funky Foam, Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black, Lulu Lavender, Angel Pink), Post-it Note, Glitter, Lilac Pearls, Sponges, Sequin Waste

My Big News!

Good afternoon everyone

This is just a short post to let you in on my big news. Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team was sadly dissolved at the end of March. Sob!! I am so sad not to be part of a fabulous Design Team with such a lovely bunch of talented and very supportive ladies, who have become dear friends.

((drum roll ))  Right onto my super 'hot of the press' news---- well, I've been asked to join Crafter's Companion Main Design Team....woo hoo! My creations will now be made for product launches to be show on Hochanda and many other social media platforms such as the CC blog, magazine, facebook etc. It's very exciting :)

Well that's it...you can grab a coffee and enjoy the rest of your day....I won't disturb you any more today.  Lol

Big hugs
